Best Buddies Bookmark - Joy's Life DT post

Happy Saturday!! Today I am sharing a fun little bookmark I made for my post on the Joy's Life Design Team blog.  We were asked to use any of Joy's new stamps on any project of our choice.  I wanted to challenge myself a bit and use a cartridge AND feature I have never used before.  I decided to go with the Cricut Sophie cartridge and use the bookmark feature.  I really LOVE the shape of this one!  I added the super cute popsicle image and sentiments from Joy's new set called Sweet Popsicle Puns.

Here's a closer look at the stamps:

I cut the bookmark 2X at 2.5" width using CCR and my Imagine .  I used chipboard that I had saved from some packaging to help make it a bit  more sturdy.  The pattern paper is from the Cricut Imagine Enjoy the Seasons cartridge.  I stamped the sentiments and popped up the popsicle image with pop dots (and added some Liquid Glass to the popsicle), inked the edges, then added some twine and a button to finish it off! :)

You can see all of Joy's awesome stamps right here.  Plus, you can find some more great projects at the Joy's Life Design Team blog.

Thanks for stopping by today! As always, I love and appreciate your comments. :) Have a CRAFTY DAY!! Lori

Guest Designing project for Liz!

Hi everyone!  Today I am sharing the project I did as a guest designer for Liz at Liz's Paper Loft.  As you may already know, Liz had surgery last month and asked some fellow crafters to step in and post on her blog while she is recovering.  I had the pleasure of meeting Liz last year, and she is just the sweetest!!  I have been a big fan of hers for quite some time, and I can't wait until she is fully recovered and back to crafting!  I miss seeing her amazing work, and if you know Liz, then I am sure you are too!

For my project, I created a frame that I will be giving my mother on Mother's Day.  This is the first altered frame that I have attempted, and I can't believe how easy it was.  I am definitely going to be making more!  The best part is, the frame only cost $1 at Michaels... gotta love it!

All of the paper and the white floral rub on is from my stash of old Stampin Up products. The flowers were created using the Cricut CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge and the greenery is from Prima. I used the Cricut Lyrical Letters cartridge for the font, which was cut out using vinyl. The polka dot strip is punched with an SU punch and I added a little ribbon and pearls ...and viola, it was done.  Now I just need my girls to cooperate and take a  nice picture to put in grandma's frame... wish me luck!

Don't forget to go hop on over to Liz's blog and leave a comment so you can be entered to win some yummy blog candy!

Bear Hug!

Happy Monday everyone!!  I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and fabulous Easter!  We had a great weekend... spent lots of time with relatives. :)

Today I am sharing a card I made for my post over at Joy's Life Design Team blog. If you have not visited the blog before, you should check it out.  The gals on the DT are amazing and share very inspiring projects everyday!!

We were asked to create a card/layout using an animal. I knew I wanted to use the Bear Hug stamp from Lots of Pun, so I went in search of a cute bear image on one of my Cricut cartridges.  When I saw this bear from the Slumber Party Lite cartridge... I thought it was perfect!! The bear looks like it is giving a big Bear Hug!!  This card was quite simple to make and I think it turned out pretty good! :)

Stamped Sentiment:  Joy's Life "Lots of Pun"
Cricut cartrdige:  Slumber Party Lite (bear)
Cricut Imagine: Good Old Days (all patterned paper)
Misc.:  Trendy Twine, IRock gems, white gelly roll pen

HOPpy Easter pillow box - Joy's Life post

Hi everyone!!  Just a few short days and the Easter Bunny will be hip hopping his way into our home. Our girls are sooo excited!! :)    I must admit, I am pretty excited too.

Today I am sharing the project I created for my post on the Joy's Life Design Team blog.  I made this fun pillow box to hold some yummy Easter treats.  The treat box is actually quite large; it was made using my Cricut Imagine and set at fit to page on a 12x12 paper.   I created the stamped sentiment using stamps from two different sets of Joy's stamps.  The "Hoppy" is from Lots of Pun using the Hoppy Birthday stamp (I masked off the Birthday) and the "Easter" is from Holiday Occasions stamp set.  You can find these stamps and all of her other awesome stamps here.

Stamped sentiment: Joy's Life Lots of Pun & Holiday Occasions
Face stamp:  Peachy Keen
Cricut Cartridge: Simply Charmed (bunny), Art Philosophy (pillow box & egg)  MS All Occasion Cakes (grass)
Cricut Imagine Cartridges for patterned papers:  Imagine More Cards, Baby Boutique, Good Old Days and Bubblegum Stripes

I will also be entering this into the following challenges:
Peachy Keen Stamps:  Candy containers
