Hello crafters!
Welcome to the Joy's Life Summer in 3D Blog Hop!
You should have just come from the very talented Maria's blog, A Simple Five.
If you just happened to stop over today and would like to join in on the hop, head right on over to Joy's Life.com, right here.
You are sure to see some fun and inspirational projects, and some yummy blog candy along the way!! :)
The first thought that came to mind when I was thinking about summer was the beach! Maybe it's because we had just come from the beach when I learned the theme for this hop. Lol! We spent a lot of time looking for seashells, and enjoyed watching the pelicans diving into the water to catch fish... it was quite a sight to see! I was very much inspired by our day at the beach, and wanted to incorporate these things into my project. Here is what I came up with:
This fun box is a file from the SVG Attic. I did make some alterations to it to make it reflect our special day.
The starfish, sand dollar, sea horse and pelican are all images I found at the Silhouette online store.
Here is a closer look at Joy's awesome stamp "shore do miss you", which is from the truly AWESOME stamp set "Pun in the Sun", which you can find right here.
And here is another angle of the box. Although putting this together was a little tricky at times, I am pretty happy with the way it turned out. :) I hope you like it!!
All the patterned paper is from digital paper packs I found on Etsy from Prettiful Designs.
Now for a little blog candy! :)

ReplyDeleteWow this project is really wonderful ! My fav summer activity is sitting by the pool and eating ice cold watermelon on a hot day. Brings back so many childhood memories growing up . Thanks for inspiration and chance to win a prize too !
ReplyDeleteFollowing your blog now too for more inspiration :) thanks
ReplyDeleteWay too cute! This is adorable. Lot's of work, and I'm sure patience! Great job. Thanks for the chance on blog candy. By far, my favorite summer activity is laying on a raft in my pool, visiting with friends or family. Wishing I was doing that today, but it's only 74 degrees in Central Illinois. This is late July right? I'll just have to keep browsing the blogs looking at summer projects since we don't have summer weather here today!
ReplyDeleteGreat project and I really like the net you have in the background for the photo and the shells lying around the box. I like going up to the lake and listening to the loons while walking around the lake. That's one of my favorite summer activities. Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteOMG!!! That is an awesome project. I am going to the beach next week and that is my favorite summertime activit
