Guest Designing project for Liz!

Hi everyone!  Today I am sharing the project I did as a guest designer for Liz at Liz's Paper Loft.  As you may already know, Liz had surgery last month and asked some fellow crafters to step in and post on her blog while she is recovering.  I had the pleasure of meeting Liz last year, and she is just the sweetest!!  I have been a big fan of hers for quite some time, and I can't wait until she is fully recovered and back to crafting!  I miss seeing her amazing work, and if you know Liz, then I am sure you are too!

For my project, I created a frame that I will be giving my mother on Mother's Day.  This is the first altered frame that I have attempted, and I can't believe how easy it was.  I am definitely going to be making more!  The best part is, the frame only cost $1 at Michaels... gotta love it!

All of the paper and the white floral rub on is from my stash of old Stampin Up products. The flowers were created using the Cricut CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge and the greenery is from Prima. I used the Cricut Lyrical Letters cartridge for the font, which was cut out using vinyl. The polka dot strip is punched with an SU punch and I added a little ribbon and pearls ...and viola, it was done.  Now I just need my girls to cooperate and take a  nice picture to put in grandma's frame... wish me luck!

Don't forget to go hop on over to Liz's blog and leave a comment so you can be entered to win some yummy blog candy!

Bear Hug!

Happy Monday everyone!!  I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and fabulous Easter!  We had a great weekend... spent lots of time with relatives. :)

Today I am sharing a card I made for my post over at Joy's Life Design Team blog. If you have not visited the blog before, you should check it out.  The gals on the DT are amazing and share very inspiring projects everyday!!

We were asked to create a card/layout using an animal. I knew I wanted to use the Bear Hug stamp from Lots of Pun, so I went in search of a cute bear image on one of my Cricut cartridges.  When I saw this bear from the Slumber Party Lite cartridge... I thought it was perfect!! The bear looks like it is giving a big Bear Hug!!  This card was quite simple to make and I think it turned out pretty good! :)

Stamped Sentiment:  Joy's Life "Lots of Pun"
Cricut cartrdige:  Slumber Party Lite (bear)
Cricut Imagine: Good Old Days (all patterned paper)
Misc.:  Trendy Twine, IRock gems, white gelly roll pen

HOPpy Easter pillow box - Joy's Life post

Hi everyone!!  Just a few short days and the Easter Bunny will be hip hopping his way into our home. Our girls are sooo excited!! :)    I must admit, I am pretty excited too.

Today I am sharing the project I created for my post on the Joy's Life Design Team blog.  I made this fun pillow box to hold some yummy Easter treats.  The treat box is actually quite large; it was made using my Cricut Imagine and set at fit to page on a 12x12 paper.   I created the stamped sentiment using stamps from two different sets of Joy's stamps.  The "Hoppy" is from Lots of Pun using the Hoppy Birthday stamp (I masked off the Birthday) and the "Easter" is from Holiday Occasions stamp set.  You can find these stamps and all of her other awesome stamps here.

Stamped sentiment: Joy's Life Lots of Pun & Holiday Occasions
Face stamp:  Peachy Keen
Cricut Cartridge: Simply Charmed (bunny), Art Philosophy (pillow box & egg)  MS All Occasion Cakes (grass)
Cricut Imagine Cartridges for patterned papers:  Imagine More Cards, Baby Boutique, Good Old Days and Bubblegum Stripes

I will also be entering this into the following challenges:
Peachy Keen Stamps:  Candy containers
Scrappy Moms Stamps: Easter Theme
Fantabulous Cricut: use an egg
My Crafty Spot: Easter
My Creative Time: your choice
More Than Favors: Wacky Wednesday

Sweet Baby card

Hello crafty friends! Happy Wednesday to ya.  :)  Just a couple more days and my DD's are on Spring Break!  I can not believe how quickly we are breezing through this school year... it's crazy!!!

Anyway, today I am sharing the card I did for my post over at the Joy's Life Design Team blog.  We were asked to make a card that "moves".   I told myself that I NEED to start using some of the cartridges that I have never used before, so the first one I came across was Baby Steps.  This is such a cute cartridge.. I can't believe I have never used it!!  When I saw this adorable little girl sleeping on the moon, I instantly thought of Rock a Bye Baby.  I decided the easiest way to have the baby rock was to hang the cut from some twine so it could swing back and forth. I attached it to a little star button and it worked perfectly!

In motion:

Sentiment stamps: Joy's Life Everyday Occasions (can be found here)
Cricut cartridge:  Baby Steps
Misc: twine, buttons, I Rock gems, stickles, white gel pen

Hop on over to Joy's Life Design Team blog and see what awesome projects the DT has to share with you.

Make a Wish

Hello my crafty friends! Today was my day to post over at the Joy's Life Design Team blog.   We were asked to make a card or layout using cool folds.  I was so excited about this because I have never made a card beyond just folding it in half!! LOL!  I decided to go with an easel card since I have been wanting to make one of those FOREVER!!  I don't know why I waited so long to give this a try, it really is so simple to do!

I have to say tho, this is NOT one of my favorite cards I have done.  I was having a serious creative block and no matter what I did with the card, I just was never really happy.  Plus, it seems so many little things went wrong along the way... It's a wonder I even had this card done in time.  Well enough of that negativity! LOL! Here is my card, I hope it's not as bad as I think. :)

Make a Wish sentiment is from Joy's Life "Your So Punny", which you can view and purchase here.

Cricut cartridges:  Simply Charmed (cake),  Phrases (Happy Birthday)
Cricut Imagine cartridge:  Bubblegum Stripes and Baby Boutique for patterned paper
Paper: Papertrey Ink Raspberry Fizz (card base) Coordinations Asst.. Pack (mint green)
Cuttlebug folders: Swiss dot and Herringbone
Misc:  ribbon, twine button, white gel pen, SU Chocolate Chip marker
