Just a Note - CD case

Hello my crafty friends.....  Happy Memorial Day to you !!!  I hope you are all enjoying your weekend.

Today I am sharing a project I created for my post over at the Joy's Life Design Team blog.  Joy sent me one of her super cool CD cases and I thought it would be fun to alter it to hold some little note cards.  

For the note cards on the inside, I once again used the "Just a Note" stamp along with the musical notes stamp, also from the Tag You're It - Two stamp set.

 In order for the note cards to fit inside the CD case,  I cut them a tad smaller than a regular A2 size card.  The envelopes are slightly too big but the ends fold up a bit and  fit inside.  :)

Much Love on your Graduation Day - card

Hello crafty friends!! This week is Graduation Week at Joy's Life Design Team blog!  I know many of you are probably preparing for a graduation for someone special in your life.  My daughter will be "graduating" from the 5th grade in a few short weeks, then it's off to middle school!  Yikes!!

For my card, I once again used my all time favorite Joy's Life stamp sets, Everyday Occasions and Holiday Occasions.

I just LOVE how I can create just the perfect sentiment with these two sets.

Recipe:

Cricut Lite Recess cartridge: used for graduation girl (adjustments made using CCR since actual cut on cartridge is a boy! I also hand cut alterations on the graduation gown)

Cricut Elegant Edges: used for background

Misc: Trendy Twine, gel pen, and heart button from stash

It's a Party Blog Hop!!

Hello, welcome to Joy's Life  IT'S A PARTY BLOG HOP!!

My DD just turned 11 last week, so it was absolutely perfect timing for a party themed hop! :)

  We went with a super sweet cupcake theme and here are some of the decorations. :)

The first thing I made was the banner:

This was created using my Imagine and CCR. For the HAPPY BIRTHDAY,  I used Birthday Bash for the font, and for the patterns, I used Bubblegum Stripes, Blast Off, Baby Boutique and Enjoy the Seasons.  The cupcake images are from Better Together.  (I used several of the cupcake images throughout the house for the party.)

Since my DD didn't want a big party, we didn't actually have party favors... but if we did, I would have made something like this:

  I had a cute acrylic pillow box that that Joy had sent me and I thought it would be so fun to use. (these can be purchased at Joy's Life)  The cupcake image is printed on printable vinyl and the sentiment is stamped with Staz On ink using a stamp from Joy's Life new releases TAG YOUR IT #1.  

A fun way to make sure kids don't lose their cups or use someone elses, is to personalize them.  

I kept with the same cupcake image,  then used black vinyl for the name using the Cricut Alphabet font.  Pretty easy peasy really!!If you would like to learn more about using vinyl you can purchase Joy's Vinylology DVD right here.

So Sweet

Hello and Happy Tuesday!!  Today I am sharing a card I created for my post at Joy's Life Design Team Blog.  First let me say that EVERYTHING that could possibly go wrong when making this card did.  I ended up having to redo the whole thing... the new picture is posted.

This week we are sharing projects that are "sweet".

I have been wanting to make something using this cute little candy jar and thought this would be the perfect time to do it!!  I used one of the many fun sentiments included in the Sweet Popsicle Puns stamp set.

Here's a closer look at this cute sentiment:

I just love the mixed fonts... don't you???


I used the Cricut Just Because Cards cartridge and some Martha Stewart glitter for the sugary goodness! :)  Although you can not tell from the picture, I also used some clear acrylic on top of the cut to look like glass... hence, the the glue you see around some of the edges.

Cricut Circle Challenge Card #3

Helloooo.... ok, so here is my third card of the day!!  :)  I must say that is a record for me!!   This card was created for the Color Challenge.  We were provided a picture ( and color samples) for our color inspiration. 

And here is what I came up with....

Since this image did not have the required orange, I thought I'd be creative and add that little orange button. That counts right???

Well, I am pretty sure that will be all the challenges I will be able to complete, but you never know.... there is still a couple of hours left!!  Wish me luck on the challenges.... there are some pretty cool prizes to be had!!

Cricut Circle Challenge Card #2

Hello again... here is the second card I created for the National Scrapbookind Day Challenges over at the Cricut Circle Blog.  For this card we were required to use CCR and ONLY digital images o Cricut Craft Room Basics.  Since I don't currently have any of the digital images, I just used the images from the Cricut Craftroom Basics.

I used the Cuttlebug for the embossing.  These stars are a really only a border, but I embossed it five times to give it full coverage.

Cricut Circle Challenge card #1

Hello everyone!  Sorry for the late posting today, but I was just able to finish up some cards I have been working on for the Cricut Circle Blog National Scrapbooking Day challenges.  The first one I did was for the Art Inspiration Challenge.  We were shown a picture and asked to create something inspired by the picture.

  I found my inspiration in the layout.

I had to use vinyl for the sentiment, otherwise, there was NO WAY that in intricate sentiment could have been cut out.  All the patterned papers are from my Imagine cartridges. :)

Happy Mother's Day - Joy's Life DT post

Hello my crafty friends!!  Today I am sharing a card I created for my post at Joy's Life Design Team blog. This week Joy asked us to create a project using flowers in some way. I decided to create flowers with one of my favorite stamp sets Joyful Hearts. Not only did I make the hearts into flowers, but the stamps have a beautiful floral print as well. I added the sentiment using two of the most versatile stamp sets EVER, Holiday Occasions and Everyday Ocassions.   I used my Stampin up Heart punch and the leaves were made using my Cricut.

I know it's a pretty basic card, but I have been really enjoying making my cards clean and simple lately.  I hope you like it! :)
